Artist's Description

The last tree standing as the coastal encroachment continues to wash away at Goleta Beach hoping to return it to its original sand bar and slough opening. Dumping huge boulders last winter seemed to stem the tide however the ocean wants its beach back.....
THIS TREE IS NO LONGER STANDING....THE NEW BEACH CREATED BY THE CLEAN UP DUMPING OF MUD AND ROCK FROM THE MONTECITO FLOODS REESTABLISHED ITSELF TWENTY FEET CLOSER TO THE PARKING LOT AND WASHING OUT THE CYPRESS THAT HAS SHADED BEACH GOERS FOR YEARS. SHAMEFUL WASTE!!!
